Hi, my name is Ashley. My left foot has been hurting non stop for about three weeks now. It is getting worst to where its hard to walk. It hurts the most when i first stand up from sitting down. It also hurts when i move my pinky toe on my left foot. The pain is coming from the outside of my left foot on the top and side about two inches above my pinky toe more on the top than the side of my outside of my foot. It hurts all the time and now is causing problems to where i can t run after my four year old. I didn t injury it that i know of and i don t work a job that requires me to be on my feet or anything. When i flex my foot down it doesn t hurt but when i pull it back or turn it towards the inside it hurts even worst like when i first stand up. I have tried icing it and taking over the counter pain meds but they don t help at all even propping it up doesn t help. Its a sharp pain that is starting to go up into my ankle now when im moving it or standing up walking or anything. When im sitting in is a throbbing pain really bad.

How Can severe Sharp Foot Pain Be Treated?
Hello, Most probably it will be due to conditions like plantar fasciitis. As a first line management analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol can be tried for pain relief. If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
